My Lagos Story!!! Story Of A Jos Boy In Lagos: The Traffic Is Real!

Lagos; a city of hustlers, balers, traders and customers. This is my experience...

Peeeehhh, Poooooom, Teeeee, Teeeeeh and the conductor's voice screaming the numerous bus stops, is all I keep hearing on my way to work and back EVERYDAY!I was told Lagos is a city for hustlers, go-getters and dream chasers, little did I know that the traffic was the realest thing that could slow down everybody in Lagos. Even with the availability of BRT buses, it still takes me 2 hours to and fro daily. Crazy isn't it? (But some of my colleagues take up to four hours to and fro). You get to experience a lot of crazy driving skills, especially, on the famous 3rd mainland bridge, because every driver wants to be ahead of the next. Its funny when you experience it, but believe me when I say, there's a thin line between smiling and frowning when you get brushed by another vehicle.
So last week, my friend arrived Lagos and as expected, I was to go and pick him (Aspa na me don sabi the town pass) from the motor park at Ojota. I left Victoria Island at about 6:30pm thinking I could reach the motor park before his bus arrived at 7:pm, hence, I decided to board the small bus to CMS since no BRT turned up and that was how i entered 'GOBE'. It took me about 4 hours to get to Ojota (Traffic of life!). By the time I got to the park, my friend was already crashing on a recharge card seller's table. I felt sorry for him, but all I could tell him was, welcome to LAGOS, Home of Traffic and The City of Hustlers.
Whenever you wake up in the morning and think of the traffic ahead or when you close from work and think of the car honks and screaming, trust me, you will not blame the likes of Oil Billionaire Femi Otedola who goes to work on a yacht. In view of this, I think I am going to get a 'HELICOPTER'...
Feel free to share your 'Traffic Experience' with me. Catch ya'll on the next reality telling.
