Husband beats wife to death in Enugu


A man has been declared wanted in Enugu State for allegedly beating his wife to death.

A middle aged man in Enugu State, Charles Oyibo, has been declared wanted by the State Police Command for beating is wife, Angela, to death during a family quarrel, reports Vanguard.
The incident which happened at Aku Community in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of the state on September 30, when Oyibo allegedly pummeled his wife to a state stupor, leaving her unconscious.
The seriously injured woman was rushed to an hospital where she remained in coma for about three weeks before she gave up the ghost on October 22.
It was gathered that immediately the doctors told Oyibo that his wife had died, he asked to be allowed to go home and inform his people but that was the last he was seen as he fled his home and community.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident, saying that preliminary investigations revealed that the husband was in the habit of beating his wife. Amarizu added that the police have begun a hunt for the fleeing suspect, assuring that he would soon be brought to book.
